HARIO x The Brew Therapy: The Future of Home Brewing is Freeze-Dried

At Takashimaya's Household Department, a quiet revolution in home coffee is taking place. One that promises cafe-quality brews without a grinder, a scale, or barista skills.
HARIO Singapore has partnered with The Brew Therapy for a multi-day product demonstration at Takashimaya Department Store (B1). Running from 18–20 September and 25–27 September 2026, the event is designed to show home brewers how to master the perfect cup.
Amidst the V60 Switch demonstrations and pour-over tutorials, one product stood out.
Coffee Crystals: The Discovery Coffee crystals are freeze-dried granules of brewed coffee that dissolve instantly in hot or cold water or milk.
Unlike traditional spray-dried instant coffee powder, which uses high heat that burns off delicate flavors, freeze-drying preserves the natural aroma, origin characteristics, and flavor profile of the coffee beans.
The Brew Therapy's Coffee Crystals Custom Bar lets you pick 6 packets for $28, customizing your selection to fit your ritual.
The Brew Therapy's coffee crystals lineup includes single-origin options:
Colombia Bourbon Aji: Co-fermented with lemongrass

Kenya SL28 SL34: NH Natural Process
Peru Elver Caturra: Natural Process
Amidst the crystals and pour-overs, I sampled a single-origin espresso that left an impression: a Kenyan espresso with hints of blueberry cheesecake.
It was bright, fruity, and unexpectedly dessert-like. A reminder that single-origin espresso can be as complex and rewarding as any filter brew. The blueberry notes were prominent, backed by a creamy, almost cheesecake-like finish.
The event also showcased HARIO's brewing equipment, including the V60 Switch and the new Next V60 NEO, which won a Red Dot Design Award 2026.
The V60 Switch combines the control of a pour-over with the immersion brewing of a French press, giving home brewers more flexibility. The Next V60 NEO builds on that legacy with improved design and functionality.
If you're at Orchard Road over the weekend, the event runs until 27 September 2026. Drop by, taste the coffee, and pick up a box of crystals. You might just elevate your current ritual.
